Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: September 2026

Welcome to American Riviera Tours. Please review these Terms & Conditions carefully before submitting an inquiry, scheduling private transportation, or using our website. By accessing our website or engaging our private touring services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms.

1. Direct Operator & Booking Model

American Riviera Tours is an independent private tour operator based in Los Angeles, California. We provide bespoke, private sightseeing excursions and chartered ground transportation. We are not an Online Travel Agency (OTA), travel marketplace, or ticket reseller.

2. Inquiries Do Not Equal Confirmed Reservations

Submitting an inquiry through our website contact form, sending an email, or engaging in preliminary telephone discussions does not constitute a confirmed booking or guaranteed reservation.

A reservation is confirmed only when our tour director explicitly reviews itinerary details, confirms vehicle and driver-guide availability, reaches mutual agreement on service terms, and issues an official confirmation or booking agreement.

3. Private & Custom Itinerary Flexibility

Because our tours are private and customized to individual guest preferences, itineraries are inherently flexible. Published website itineraries and estimated timelines serve as sample routing guides.

Actual routing, stop durations, and visited landmarks are subject to adjustment based on real-time Southern California traffic, highway conditions, municipal events, park regulations, weather, guest preferences, or safety considerations. The assigned professional driver-guide retains discretion to alter routing in the interest of passenger safety, punctuality, and overall travel comfort.

4. Pricing, Inclusions & Exclusions

Prices and inclusions for each private journey depend strictly on the confirmed itinerary, total hours, vehicle category, party size, and agreed service scope.

  • Standard Inclusions: Unless otherwise specified in your written tour confirmation, quotes generally include private vehicle charter, dedicated driver-guide service, door-to-door hotel/residence pickup within our standard service area, bottled water, and scheduled sightseeing routing.
  • Standard Exclusions: Unless explicitly itemized in writing, quotes do not include guest meals, discretionary driver-guide gratuities, winery tasting fees (except where specifically noted in writing for selected partner estates), museum admission tickets, optional studio tour tickets, parking surcharges outside standard stops, or personal incidentals.

5. Third-Party Attractions & Venues

Certain excursions feature stops at independent third-party venues—such as the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, partner wineries, national and state parks, or municipal piers.

All third-party admissions, exhibitions, opening schedules, security screening procedures, and operational rules are governed exclusively by their respective management. American Riviera Tours does not control, operate, or assume liability for third-party delays, closures, exhibit renovations, admission denials, or operating policy changes.

6. Pickup Coordination & Transportation Terms

We coordinate pickup from hotels across Greater Los Angeles, private residences, cruise ship terminals (Port of Los Angeles San Pedro and Long Beach), and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Guests are responsible for providing accurate pickup addresses, flight details, or cruise docking itineraries. For airport arrivals, pickups follow designated commercial ground transportation protocols in accordance with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) regulations. Passengers must adhere to seatbelt laws and conduct themselves with consideration for vehicle safety throughout the excursion.

7. Cancellation, Changes & Refunds

Because our excursions involve dedicated private vehicles and reserved professional driver-guides, cancellation deadlines, rescheduling terms, and applicable refund conditions are established individually per reservation and stated clearly in your written booking confirmation or charter agreement.

If you need to adjust your tour date, departure time, or pickup location, please contact us as early as possible. We make reasonable efforts to accommodate schedule modifications subject to vehicle and guide availability.

8. Force Majeure & Unforeseen Delays

American Riviera Tours is not liable for delays, itinerary truncations, route deviations, or inability to perform services caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Such events include, without limitation: severe weather, mountain or coastal highway closures (e.g., Highway 1 / Big Sur slide repairs), wildland fires, seismic activity, traffic gridlock resulting from motorcade or municipal road closures, labor strikes, civic demonstrations, civil unrest, or official public health orders.

In such circumstances, our driver-guides will propose the best available alternative routing or sightseeing options to safeguard your travel experience.

9. Website Accuracy & Information Limitations

We make every reasonable effort to keep the information, photography, destination descriptions, and sample routes on this website accurate and current. However, travel conditions, venue hours, historical exhibits, and commercial landscapes evolve.

Website content is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis for general informational and trip-planning purposes. We reserve the right to update tour itineraries, descriptions, and site content at any time without prior notice.

10. Intellectual Property & Non-Affiliation Protection

All original text, website architecture, brand marks, and photography produced by American Riviera Tours are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

References to third-party landmarks, studios, sports franchises, Olympic events, motion pictures, or cultural venues (e.g., Warner Bros., Hollywood Bowl, Fast & Furious, LA28, Dodgers, Reagan Library) are used strictly for descriptive and geographic identification purposes. American Riviera Tours is an independent tour operator and claims no official endorsement, sponsorship, or commercial partnership with third-party intellectual property holders unless specifically documented.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions, as well as any tour services provided by American Riviera Tours, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.

12. Contacting the Operator

For inquiries regarding these Terms & Conditions or to discuss an existing reservation, please reach out to our tour directors through our official contact form or by telephone at (800) 761-1775.
